Atheists Again
According to news sources the Freedom From Religion group has filed yet another lawsuit, this time in regards to prayers and "so help me God" from the inauguration ceremonies. It seems that the government is picking a winner between "believers" and "those who don't believe."
Dan Baker stated to FOXNews Radio, "We're hoping to stop prayer and religious rituals at government functions, especially at the inauguration." He continued to say, "Yet we are subjected to someone else's religious views with the endorsement of the government, which makes us feel like second class outsiders." Maybe Mr. Baker and his followers should take classes on improving their self-esteem so that they would not feel they must act like spoiled children who aren't getting their way. 'If you won't play the way I want, I'll just pitch a tantrum and ruin it for everybody.'
I looked at Freedom From Religion (FOF) site and they appear to have these paroxysms quite often. Normally one would handle a child that is having a tantrum is to either remove the child to another place, such as time out or distract the child with something different to occupy his/herself. Or give in and let the child have their way. Giving in is not the correct approach for either the child or Freedom From Religion. My suggestion to them would be to find something that would build rather than further divide people.
FOF claims that "Atheist are the most despised minority in the land." If you did more to help the less fortunate, for them to gain skills they need to succeed and less time filing lawsuits over a prayer because your feelings got hurt, maybe your group wouldn't be so despised. I don't despise you, I pity you. Thankfully not all atheists feel the same way as the ones from FOF.

Hi Candace - First let me offer a very belated thanks for your visit to my website, and highly favorable review, despite our apparent differences of political opinion. That having been said, you may be surprised to know that I suspect we have a few things in common. I agree with you 100 percent about atheists. It makes me sad to think that people are so blind to the power of prayer that they could actually believe there is no higher power. Talk about the peak of arrogance!
I don't know if you got the chance to look at any of the sample chapters I've posted on my website at hubpages of my novel, Antiquity Calais: Standing at Armageddon. You may actually enjoy reading it, and I would particularly value your opinion as an enlightened Christian as to whether I've crossed lines that ought not to be crossed. It's really a scifi fantasy book, but the religious themes are so strong that it can't be pigeon-holed too easily.
I'm going to keep reading your thoughts on other issues, and like you, I enjoy a good debate.
Happy New Year!
