Some Questions to Ask the First Dog Candidate
President-elect Obama stated that picking a dog was tougher than finding a commerce secretary. This could mean that there is a problem with a lack of qualified dog candidates with questionable backgrounds, or too many well-qualified canines. I suggest that President-elect Obama use a simple application approach to narrow down the search.
Background Information
1. Please furnish copies of all pedigree papers including those of your parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. If you don't have these papers, a statement from your veterinarians as to your lineage will suffice.
2. List any and all canine associations that you, your parents and great-grandparents belong. For example; United Canine Association, American Kennel Club, Sweet N. Saucy Chihuahuas etc.
3, Please list all training that you have received. Such as obedience and catching basketballs with your back paws. Provide certificates of each training class you have attended and successfully passed.
4. Have you ever been arrested by a dogcatcher for not wearing your license or any other violation of the law?
5. Have you been spayed or neutered? If not, how many offspring do you have? Do you know the names of the other parent(s)?
6. Have you ever been the subject of an investigation for biting a postal worker, a member of the media, a Democrat or any other person?
7. Have you ever chased cars?
8. Have you ever chased cats?
9. Do cats chase you?
If President-elect Obama uses these questions, I am sure he will find the perfect First Dog.
