Open Letter to Gays and Lesbians by Candace Clark
I posted this almost a year ago. I think considering what has been in the news the past fews days, I felt lead to post this article again.
I want to introduce to you a friend of mine, someone you have heard of but may have never taken the time to know. This friend is closer to me than a brother or sister, and despite how I have lived in the past, he still loves me. He wants what is best for me and is willing to help me through all my problems. It isn't easy, no matter what sins had us bound, but he has always been there when I need him, as he is continuously by my side. Guiding me on the path I should take.
My friend's name is Jesus, and he wants you to get to know him too. Before you turn away, please continue to read my letter to you. It could make a huge difference in your life.
1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. This was the Apostle Paul speaking, he had Christians imprisoned and killed until he met the Lord. If God can forgive someone who murdered his people and was on his way to arrest more, he will also forgive you.
Acts 26: 18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sin:
Romans 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
1 John 1:19 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
2 Corinthians 6:2 For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Refusing the gift of salvation is the ONLY sin that will condemn a person to hell)
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Romans 8:24 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart God than raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
1 Peter 4 :18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Don't wait until another day, or maybe you think that you have to get a few things cleaned up first. You won't be able to get your life right enough trying on your own. Come right now to the throne and ask God to forgive you of your sins. That you believe Christ died for you and I mean you. Just like he did for everyone. I'm not going to quote the verses you must be very familiar with and I am sure some of you had them screamed at you. However, remember this, if you told someone a lie, or had bad thoughts about someone else, those are sins also of which you need to be forgiven.
You and you alone decide where you will spend eternity. You have been offered another chance. What are you going to say to my friend?

The old Phil Donahue show had a program of former Gays who turned their lives and hearts to Christ.They changed from being gay,some were married with families.This is a lifestyle choice,follow the lusts of your flesh or OBEY God!

Most gays say they were born gay,we were all born into sin,but we can change,by OBEYING GOD!You must be born again in Christ to really learn how to truly live your life and who to live it for.Sin is selfish.God calls for us to turn away from sin,no it isn't always easy,but it will get easier the more you stop living for your own lusts.Selfish people say,if it feels good do it,most of the things they think feel good aren't what God says is good,the creator of the universe knows what is truly good.To give in to this sinful life will lead to death and hell.

Respectfully, I disagree with the previous two comments on this board. I was raised in a good traditional Christian home, by two loving parents. I believe in the Bible. And I'm gay. After extensive study on the topic, I've found nothing in the Bible which forbids a monogamous, loving homosexual relationship. Each time the subject is referenced, it is mentioned with regard to promiscuity, rape, and adultery. While these may all be parts of "gay culture", they're not part of my walk with Jesus. The word "homosexual" didn't exist until the 19th century, and didn't appear in a Biblical translation until the 1940's. There is no Hebrew word for homosexual.
It is my belief that my God doesn't want me to live a lie. He made me this way, made my heart this way. I don't have control over that. All I can do is devote my life to Him. Often times, the Christian community gets caught up in scripture which has been loosely translated, or taken out of context- just like those who live to disprove God's word. Trying to invoke fear in non-believers and gays by telling them they're going to Hell for being themselves is very un-Christ-like. Shame on you all. Don't forget the most important commandments. Love thy God as thyself, and love thy neighbor.
It will be interesting to see if my comment makes it past moderation in its entirety.

Why would I edit anything out of your comment? You were stated your position in a civil manner. The only ones I have edited or deleted were ones that were vulgar and personal attacks.
The most important thing I am concerned about is a person's eternal soul, and that they have actually asked the Lord for forgiveness of their sins and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Some people believe that because they grew up in a Christian home, and go to church every Sunday makes them a Christian. I am not implying that you are not, but trying to make a point that some people do believe that way, never acknowledge their sins and ask Jesus to forgive them of their sins to be their personal Lord and Savior. Only at that point does one become a Christian.
As far as Leviticus 20:13 being in with the others sexual sins, it is because the Lord was defining what sins are. The law was given to make people realize that they need a Savior and a person cannot keep the whole law. Break the smallest of the laws and you just as well have broken them all. That person now is in need of a Savior.
If you are truly a child of God, then the Lord will deal with you any sins in your life Hebrews 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealtheth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
